Novartis Steam Line Tie-in completed in Cambridge, MA

PIDC acted as Owner’s Representative for Veolia Energy to complete installation of 610′ of new 8″ steam and 4″ condensate lines to tie-in and support the Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research Facility in Cambridge, MA.  Substantial completion occurred in December 2014 and tied the new Massachusetts Ave buildings into Veolia’s Cambridge steam loop system.  This very “quick response” project required a harmonious effort between Contractors and the “just-in-time” engineering.  Trade personnel needed to work varied shifts in order to coordinate piping installation over the MBTA Red Line, around the Novartis main site trucking requirements, and within the local Cambridge noise restrictions.
