PIDC provided preconstruction and construction management services in a two-phase expansion to support this rapidly growing medical device company. Our role included site selection support to empower informed decisions on tenant improvements costs, rent and other considerations.

Project highlights include:

  • Assistance with landlord negotiations relating to the base building infrastructure and tenant improvement (TI) allowances to support InVivo’s specific program
  • Development of 20,000 sf for corporate offices, R&D labs (chemistry, biology and tissue culture), and a cGMP manufacturing cleanroom for lead development projects
  • Creation of a new SCI vivarium, reportedly one of the largest in the world, to facilitate multiple projects
  • A second-phase 5,000 sf office expansion to support InVivo’s growing staff

A growing medical device company, InVivo Therapeutics Corporation was founded to develop and commercialize groundbreaking technologies for the treatment of spinal cord injuries (SCI), utilizing polymers as a platform technology. InVivo utilizes multiple strategies involving the development and use of biomaterials, FDA-approved drugs, growth factors and human neural stem cells.
