Additions & Renovations
19,000 sf
Architect: Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects | Hopkinton, MA

This 19,000 sf phased addition and alterations project includes a three-story residence, along with the Chestnut Hill Center. PIDC provided construction management services to help create inviting, high-finish spaces for living and worship.

Project highlights include:

  • A stunning 9,000 sf addition which includes a new Oratory — complete with a marble tile altar, custom corbels, and mahogany flooring/trim.
  • Increased square-footage of bedrooms and number of bathrooms.
  • Exterior stone and stucco façade: designed to blend seamlessly with the classic existing structure.
  • Complete renovation of the Center included: updated finishes throughout, extensive MEP and HVAC upgrades, fire protection systems, restrooms and landscaping.
  • Strategically phased to allow 8 to 12 residents and administration to safely inhabit and operate the center during construction.

Chestnut Hill Center is dedicated to the character and intellectual development of men. The Christian orientation of its activities is entrusted to Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church (www.opusdei.org). The mission of Opus Dei is to help people turn their work and daily activities into occasions for growing closer to God, while serving others and improving society.
